Flask Information
Availability: We have approximately 40 plants in intermediate-stage flasks, but this may not be enough to make flasks for new requests, because we are still making flasks for prior requests.
You should: Reserve a flask now. Even though we might not have enough plants, if someone drops out ahead of you you many get a flask. If you wait, this will be less likely because you would be further down on the list.
Yield Estimate: 468 plants (based on flask surveys done 12/10/2021 through 10/08/2023)
Yield estimates are only approximate, but may appear to be fairly exact numbers because they are a combination of large rough estimates in remaining mother flasks and more accurate small estimates in reflasks.
Plantlet Sizes: From many flasks 10 - 80 mm plants (based on flask surveys done 12/10/2021 through 05/04/2024)
From one most recently surveyed flask 60 - 80 mm (05/04/2024)
Expected Flask Price: $40.00 per flask of 25 (min.) plants

The origin/habitat information below is supplied courtesy of Charles and Margaret Baker

The following information is based on the name of the plant provided by the donor, and assumes that the name is correct. If the plant has been misidentified, then the following information may not be correct.

ORIGIN/HABITAT: Comoro Islands, where it is endemic to Grande Comoro Island. Habitat elevation was not reported, but topographical maps of the island shows maximum elevations of 4000-6000 ft. (1220-1830 m). Growers report that these plants grow are healthiest if temperatures are below the intermediate-warm range, so we have estimated the habitat elevation at 4000 ft. (1220 m). However, the resulting table and cultural suggestions should be used somewhat cautiously.
