Pod Parent Blooming Plant

Culture Notes from Donor: Parent plant: Temperature range Cool-Intermediate 75-58°F. Grows well vegetatively in intermediate conditions, with fairly bright light, but did not bloom (for 10 years) until I moved it outdoors in the SF Bay area, with greater day/night differential and cooler nights. It is back in the greenhouse for the winter. Keep evenly moist. Potted in medium fir bark with #3 sponge rock, hort. charcoal.

Comments: Parent plant: Dwarf plant, described by Dressler around 2004, from Panama. Stems about 14-16 inches high. Very fragrant white flowers with purple markings on lip. Flowers last for about a week, and each stem blooms sequentially, with up to 5 flowers on a stem over time.

Temperatures we attempt to use in the lab & greenhouse:
For Species:   Spring, Summer, Autumn, Winter: days average 75°F, nights 58°F; best fit is Cool-Intermediate 75-58°F (Source: C. Hill pers comm)
