ORIGIN/HABITAT: Venezuela. This epiphytic species grows in rainforests on
the northern coastal mountains in the States of Lara and Zulia. Plants
have been found near Barquisimeto, which is east of Lake Maracaíbo. They
have also been collected west of Lake Maracaíbo in the Cordillera de
Perija, the mountain range which lies along the northernmost border with
Colombia. In both locations, the plants grow at 3950 ft. (1200 m).
