ORIGIN/HABITAT: Thailand, Cambodia, and Laos. This area has long been
thought to be the extent of the habitat, but recent reports indicate that
this species may also occur on Hainan Island, China. Plants are humus
epiphytes, and the roots are usually embedded in deep leaf litter,
detritus, or leaf-mold. Plants are occasionally found on a mossy boulder
in a deep forest at (600-700 m). The forest habitat is usually cool and
mist shrouded.
