Flask Information |
Availability: |
We have sold all of the flasks for this item. |
You should: |
Consider getting individual plants or compots instead of a flask. You can place a "Notify Flask Recipients" Request, and either we or a flask recipient may contact you when plants are available.
You may also place a "Notify Retries" Request, and if an identical pollination (the same parents) is done again, we'll let you know.
You may reserve a flask, but it's very unlikely you'll get one ...this could only happen if we found a flask that we didn't know we had. |
Yield Estimate: |
29 plants (based on flask surveys done 02/11/2019 )
|
Plantlet Sizes: |
From many flasks 4 - 12 mm plants (based on flask surveys done 02/11/2019 )

ORIGIN/HABITAT: Southwest China. Plants grow along the eastern edge of the
Guizhou Plateau in Yunnan and Guangxi provinces. They are usually found on
northeast facing rock walls at 1500-2300 ft. (460-700 m). They grow where
concretions formed when limestone dissolved by rain and mist hardens with
sand, clay impurities, and humus in cracks and fissures. These
concretions, which resemble a mud wasp nest in texture, are kept
continuously moist from water seepage, and they are often are covered with
a moss which retains additional moisture. Paphiopedilum emersonii grows in
the moss with roots penetrating to the surface of the moist concretion
below.
