The following information is based on the name of the plant provided by the donor, and assumes that the name is correct. If the plant has been misidentified, then the following information may not be correct.

ORIGIN/HABITAT: Brazil. This orchid grows on trees in the cool, moist
mountains of the States of São Paulo, Paraná, Santa Catarina, and Minas
Gerais. Specific habitat elevation was not given, but plants in this genus
generally grow best with cool to intermediate temperatures, so habitat
elevation was selected accordingly. The resulting climate table and
cultural suggestions should be used somewhat cautiously, however, until
actual habitat elevations are known.
