ORIGIN/HABITAT: Endemic to Scandinavia. Plants are found in northern
Norway, central Sweden, and neighboring regions of Norway. Populations are
local and rather rare. No other information available for habitat location
and elevation. Insufficient information is available for the selection of
representative climate data. Hawkes (1965) indicated that these plants may
be grown as a temperate species Habenaria in a shady spot in rich,
well-drained soil. Therefore, the following climate table and cultural
suggestions for Habenaria repens Nuttall are presented as a possible
starting point, but should be used with a great deal of caution.
