ORIGIN/HABITAT: This orchid is distributed in the southern Aegean where
plants have been found on Laconie, Cyclades, eastern Crete, and Rhodes.
Plants grow in full sun to mid-shade on dry to moist calcareous substrates
in short grassland, abandoned farmland, and scrub at elevations up to 3950
ft. (1200 m).
