ORIGIN/HABITAT: Widely distributed from northeast India, across southeast
Asia, northward into southwest China, and southward through Malaya into
Indonesia. In China, this orchid is found in damp locations in forests at
3100-3300 ft. (950-1000 m) in the Provinces of Yunnan, Guangxi, Guangdong,
and Hainan. Plants have been reported from many mountainous areas in
Vietnam from Cha Pa in the north to Dalat in the south, but the only
habitat elevation given was 3950 ft. (1200 m). We have been unable to find
details of habitat location and elevation in other areas.
