ORIGIN/HABITAT: Peru. This orchid was discovered in the department of
Loreto where it was growing in virgin swampy woods near Tocache Mission
Post. Plants have also been collected near Tarapoto. Habitat elevation was
not reported, so we have estimated the elevation as approximately that of
the station elevation at Tarapoto. The resulting climate table and
cultural suggestions should be used somewhat cautiously, however.
