The following information is based on the name of the plant provided by the donor, and assumes that the name is correct. If the plant has been misidentified, then the following information may not be correct.

ORIGIN/HABITAT: Colombia. This epiphytic species was reportedly discovered
in the Western Cordillera at about 6550 ft. (2000 m). The plants were said
to come from the Department of Risaralda near Anserma, but later attempts
to collect additional plants have been unsuccessful. Therefore, all plants
now in cultivation come from the original collection. Although habitat
details are uncertain, plants have been successfully cultivated near
Medellín and in La Ceja. Growers should use the following climate data
with caution, however.
