The following information is based on the name of the plant provided by the donor, and assumes that the name is correct. If the plant has been misidentified, then the following information may not be correct.
This text is copyrighted by the Bakers and may not be reproduced without permission.
ORIGIN/HABITAT: Ecuador. These plants are found on the eastern slopes of
the Andes in the Province of Zamora-Chinchipe between Loja and Zamora.
They grow in cloudforests at 5250-6550 ft. (1600-2000 m). The plants are
locally abundant in one valley east of Loja but are rare elsewhere.
