The origin/habitat information below is supplied courtesy of Charles and Margaret Baker
The following information is based on the name of the plant provided by the donor, and assumes that the name is correct. If the plant has been misidentified, then the following information may not be correct.

ORIGIN/HABITAT: Brazil, including the States of Sergipe, Minas Gerais, Rio
de Janeiro, São Paulo, Paraná, Santa Catarina, and Rio Grande do Sul. Most
current writers report that plants are found in a variety of habitats
including cool mountains, hot lowlands, savannahs, and everything
in-between.
Also, Brazilian collections are reported in the States of Mato Grosso,
Ceará, Bahia, Pernambuco, and near Brasilia in the Distrito Federal.
However, this distribution is reported when Brassavola perrinii is listed
as a synonym. As previously stated for Brassavola perrinii, we suspect
that plants found in warmer coastal regions may be Brassavola tuberculata,
while those from cooler inland areas actually may be Brassavola perrinii.
