The following information is based on the name of the plant provided by the donor, and assumes that the name is correct. If the plant has been misidentified, then the following information may not be correct.

ORIGIN/HABITAT: Ecuador. Numerous collections of this orchid have been
made in Pichincha Province mostly near Quito. Collections have been made
at 4900-7550 ft. (1500-2300 m), but most plants were found at about 6550
ft. (2000 m). Plants grow both as epiphytes or as terrestrials on steep
slopes in very wet montane cloudforest.
