The following information is based on the name of the plant provided by the donor, and assumes that the name is correct. If the plant has been misidentified, then the following information may not be correct.

ORIGIN/HABITAT: Mexico and Venezuela. In Mexico, this epiphytic orchid is
found in relatively dry oak or pine-oak forests at 4900-6550 ft.
(1500-2000 m) on the Pacific slopes in the states of Nayarit, Jalisco,
Michoacan, México, Oaxaca, and Chiapas. Plants have also been reported in
the state of Veracruz. In Venezuela, plants are found in the state of
Bolívar near Sta. Elena in fairly tall forest at 4250 ft. (1300 m).
