Culture Notes from Donor: Parent plant: Temperature range W (70-90°F). I grow this species mounted on cork with a small bit of moss around some of the roots, partial shade, fairly humid conditions, lows down to 55F in the winter, highs up to 100F in the summer.

Comments: Microterangis hariotiana, formerly Chamaeangis hariotiana is a miniature monopodial orchid related to Aerangis from the Comoros Islands. It blooms in the late winter to early spring (northern hemisphere) with numerous racemes of densely packed sherbet-orange, strongly night-scented, miniature flowers. After two years of unsuccessful attempts to self this plant, I noticed that it is very strongly scented late at night, and so, hoping for a night insect which could pollinate the tiny flowers, I put it outside for a few warm nights. It appears there may be an insect willing to act as a pollinator up here in N. Florida since it immediately set capsules.

Parent plant: Miniature.
