ORIGIN/HABITAT: Brazil. This orchid grows in the cooler mountain areas at
3300 ft. (1000 m) in the southeastern States of Rio de Janeiro, São Paulo,
Minas Gerais, Paraná, Santa Catarina, and Rio Grande do Sul. Plants most
often grow on trees overhanging rivers.
