The following information is based on the name of the plant provided by the donor, and assumes that the name is correct. If the plant has been misidentified, then the following information may not be correct.

ORIGIN/HABITAT: Panama, Colombia, Venezuela, the Guianas, Surinam, Peru,
Brazil, and Bolivia. In Panama, this orchid is found in various locations
in the Canal Area, Coclé Province, and Colón Province between sea level
and 1300 ft. (0-400 m), but most collections are made below 200 ft. (60
m). In Venezuela, plants are found near Guatopo, Caripe, and just south of
El Dorado. In Surinam, plants identified as Rodriguezia lanceolata are
said to be common in the savanna forest on the coastal lowlands. On
Trinidad, plants are found in several locations. In Peru, plants grow near
Iquitos in the Department of Loreto near the junction of the Amazon and
Itaya Rivers. In Bolivia, plants grow near Pando at 600 ft. (190 m). In
Brazil, plants are found in the hot, humid lowlands of the States of
Amazonas, Pará, Amapá, and Mato Grosso.
