The following information is based on the name of the plant provided by the donor, and assumes that the name is correct. If the plant has been misidentified, then the following information may not be correct.

ORIGIN/HABITAT: Ecuador. This epiphytic species occurs on the eastern
slopes of the Andes in the southeastern Provinces of Zamora-Chinchipe and
Loja. Plants have been found at 7850-8850 ft. (2400-2700 m) in
cloudforests between Loja and Zamora and in the vicinity of Yangana, which
is southeast of Loja. In addition, plants have been successfully
cultivated in Cuenca.
