Comments: Parent plant: A small member of the genus, this plant is c. 20" (51 cm) tall. The imaged flower is c. 3" (7.6 cm) across. The flowers are slightly, but pleasantly scented.

The following information is based on the name of the plant provided by the donor, and assumes that the name is correct. If the plant has been misidentified, then the following information may not be correct.

ORIGIN/HABITAT: Costa Rica, Panama, and Ecuador. In Costa Rica, plants
have been found in the provinces of Alajuela Guanacaste, and Limón at
1650-3300 ft. (500-1000 m). A collection has been reported from Panama
where plants were found in Coclé Province at 1650 ft (500 m). In Ecuador,
this orchid is found on the western slopes of the Andes in the provinces
of Cañar, Oro, Esmeraldas, and Pichincha where plants grow on as
terrestrials on steep embankments in wet, montane cloudforest mostly at
elevations of 1300-3300 ft. (400-1000 m), but collections have been
reported from near sea level to 8200 ft. (2500 m).
