The following information is based on the name of the plant provided by the donor, and assumes that the name is correct. If the plant has been misidentified, then the following information may not be correct.

ORIGIN/HABITAT: Colombia and Ecuador. This species grows in all three
cordilleras in Colombia. It was first discovered growing on trees in thick
forests at 7200 ft. (2190 m) near Fusagasugá just southwest of Bogatá.
Plants have since been found at many locations in the Central and Western
Cordilleras from near Frontino and Medellín, Colombia in the north to near
Cuenca, Ecuador in the south. They grow at 5250-8850 ft. (1600-2700 m),
but they most common at about 7550 ft. (2300 m). They occur in a variety
of habitats from cloudforest to scrub to thick forest. They grow on trees
in forested areas, but they are also found growing as terrestrials along
road embankments, .
