ORIGIN/HABITAT: Mexico, Guatemala, and El Salvador. In Mexico, this orchid is found on the Pacific slopes in the states of Chiapas, Jalisco, Oaxaca, and possibly Veracruz. Plants grow mostly on trees in humid mixed deciduous or oak forests at 4900-5250 ft. (1500-1600 m). In El Salvador, the plants are found at 6550-8200 ft. (2000-2500 m).
