ORIGIN/HABITAT: Discovered originally on Seran (now Seram) in the Molucca
Islands, this plant is said to occur on the Pacific Islands from the
Moluccas to Vanuatu, but we have been unable to locate any information in
the literature giving details of habitat location and elevation other than
that reported by J. J. Smith for Mediocalcar seranicum which was found in
the central part of Seran (now Seram) at 6550-8200 ft. (2000-2500 m).
