The following information is based on the name of the plant provided by the donor, and assumes that the name is correct. If the plant has been misidentified, then the following information may not be correct.

ORIGIN/HABITAT: Bolivia, Colombia, Costa Rica, Ecuador, and Panama. This
epiphytic species is distributed over a large area, but the plants occur
at widely scattered locations. In Costa Rica, they grow in the Santa Maria
National Park and in forests at Rincón de La Vieja at 1950-2600 ft.
(600-800 m). In Panama, the plants are found in the Province of Coclé, but
habitat details and elevation were not reported. In Colombia, they are
found near Dabeiba in the Department of Antioquia at 5600-6550 ft.
(1700-2000 m), in the Department of Valle del Cauca near Río Dagua at 4900
ft. (1500 m), and in the Department of Nariño on the road to Tumaco with
no habitat details or elevation given. In Ecuador, plants grow in
low-level cloudforests on the western slopes of the Andes in the Province
of Cotopoxi at 3950 ft. (1200 m) and in the Province of Manabí at 1950 ft.
(600 m). The species has not been recorded in Peru, but collections have
been made far to the southeast in central Bolivia where plants were
growing in the Department of Cochabamba in forests near Villa Tunari at
1300 ft. (400 m).
