The origin/habitat information below is supplied courtesy of Charles and Margaret Baker
The following information is based on the name of the plant provided by the donor, and assumes that the name is correct. If the plant has been misidentified, then the following information may not be correct.

ORIGIN/HABITAT: Nepal, Sikkim, Bhutan, the Jaintea and Jowai Hills. The
type specimen was found in Nepal, and in 1987 Seidenfaden reported the
acquisition of a specimen from a dealer in Kalimpong, which is slightly
northeast of Darjeeling. This plant probably came from Sikkim or Bhutan,
but its origin is not known for certain. Details of habitat elevation have
not been reported, so the habitat elevation has been estimated, and the
resulting climate table and cultural suggestions should be used rather
cautiously.
