Isochilus amparoanus Schlechter is a very attractive orchid with bright green, evergreen foliage and terminal inflorescences with small clusters of beautiful bright magenta flowers. It makes lovely specimen plants. What's very special about this species is that the uppermost leaves along the stem turn color, to a rich magenta, when the plant flowers. Therefore, I find it more attractive, and with larger flowers, than the more commonly seen Isochilus linearis. Medium-sized plant. |
