Very large plant. This plant has grapefruit-sized pseudobulbs with 2-3 foot long plicate leaves. Individual flowers are about 2 inches across and last a little longer than a week, but each inflorescence carries dozens of flowers which open 5 to 7 at a time, so the plant stays in bloom for up to 2 months. This plant was donated by Dr. Jeff Ravetch. |
Donor's culture notes: |
Temperature range I (60-83°F). It grows under fairly bright conditions and needs to be watered almost daily during the growing season (check for pseudobulbs to be nice and plump). High humidity helps keep the leaves in good condition, when kept too dry, the leaves develop black spots at the distal ends. |
