Comments: The overall size of the plant is quite manageable staying under 12" tall. It has small upright pseudobulbs that cluster tightly together so it will stay fairly compact. Sturdy, dense almost leathery leaves and small pseudobulbs make this a hardy vigorous grower that is fairly undemanding in its culture. One source says that Macradenia brassavolae flowers are fragrant but I don't detect any odor.
Donor's culture notes: Temperature range I (60-83°F). I grow mine mounted horizontally on moss covered cork under intermediate conditions in bright indirect light. Internet sources say it can be grown intermediate, warm to hot. It comes from Guatemala, Costa Rica, Panama, Colombia, and Venezuela where it is epiphytic on trees or terrestrial in leaf litter in low wet forests at or near sea level.
Unique ID: MC1867
(this will not change even if any part of the name should change)
